Worm Composting

worm picture

Vermicomposting is similar to composting in that it is a method of converting organic by-products into a valuable stable humus-like material called vermicompost. This material has many beneficial uses. The difference between composting and vermicomposting lies mainly in the use of earthworms as the integral part of the conversion process. Vermicomposting is a viable means of recycling food waste and animal manures. Increased vermicomposting could help in the overall diversion of wastes from landfills.
